ReCore is an exploration adventure game with action combat elements, by Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man, with the Metroid Prime staff. In it, you play as Joule Adams, one of the few survivors of a robotic apocalypse on the planet of Far Eden. With robotic help of your own, though, you can not only survive, but thrive.

Blast Or Navigate

Jules begins the game with an energy rifle, which she keeps forever but can upgrade as she navigates dangerous ruins, meets allies, and levels up. The game includes RPG elements aside from a lot of non-linearity, meaning it combines several genres in gameplay that ultimately works pretty well. ReCore has also been remade in a "definitive edition", which adds more dungeons and areas as well as enhanced graphics. The game's graphics are already good, mind you: the art design uses dark and light browns in ways many games don't manage, making a common palette into a fantastic one.

Many Things To Find, But Few Flaws

Basically, ReCore combines the best of its developers' past experience into a game with only a handful of flaws, like finding destinations or lag. It's extremley easy to recommend to any avid gamer, particularly those who enjoyed Metroid Prime.
